Would it be possible to connect the front USB ports to my motherboard?

yes you can connect them... the case will come with cable inside that will let you connect the power button reset button and audio and front USB... on the motherboard you find several 9 pin connections that will allow to connect to these functions..... it will be in your motherboards manual... its fairly straight forward
