How can i get a Samsung and a Maxtor Hard Drive to work together?

try going to your cmos and changing the boot order. The sata drive is probably set up AFTER the ide and that will cause it not to boot first. IF not, look on the back of the maxtor and change the pin to slave drive. You can also use a boot disk to bring up dos then type c: to check which drive is coming up as hard drive. You may have to type dir to list the files. A easier way is to use another system and put it in as slave (one that does not use sata drive in it) if they have a dvd, just copy your personal files to it and remove the maxtor.
