If she has one kidney removed, how long before the other one fails and she will have to undergo hemodyalysis. Is Jonah really aware of her condition @ skin condition? Tell the reader more about Carters' family. Hospitals are expensive, Does "Bo" have a job? Are living conditions in the bayou conducive to Carter's well being? I have more questions about your love story than answers, given the facts. Let Jonah get accepted by the family as this seems to help Carter deal better with her terminal condition then let Carter pass away in Jonah's arms with the family around her bed. Again, given the facts as you have written them, this is the way I see it. "Forever in Your Arms."
